aspect of this, he had acronis configured to do backups, but these backups were transfered to his house, I have no clue if they are even active any more. Additionally, he 'had' all 'spare' hardware at 
his house, which was from his own personal collection as far as I know. In the event something goes down, unless its on the motherboard it was a spare part picked up from microcenter when the problem 
occurred.

is not needed
